How MONOCHROME Field Guide uses local browser storage, what shared links contain and how to delete your notebook. No site analytics or advertising by default.
Effective September 13, 2026. This edition has no advertising, login, comments, third-party fonts or automatically loaded video players. It does not ask for your Roblox password or access your game account.
Optional analytics
If you choose Allow analytics, Google Analytics measures page visits and basic engagement using cookies. It does not receive your notebook, code notes, search text or shared progress fragment. No Google Analytics request is sent before you allow it. We do not enable advertising personalization. Your preference is stored as monochrome.analytics. Use Analytics settings in the footer to change your choice and stop future collection. Google processes technical information such as your IP address to provide analytics.
Local browser data
The run notebook uses monochrome.run.v1 in local storage for key marks, room notes, the code note, stage, journal and save timestamp. The appearance preference uses monochrome.theme. Local storage is not a server-side account and does not synchronize across devices.
Use Reset notebook to clear your run record from this browser. Clear this site’s browser data to remove both the notebook and theme preference. If browser storage is unavailable, changes last only for the current page session unless you export a backup.
Sharing and backups
The share link encodes only key marks and stage in its URL fragment. The website does not send that fragment to its hosting server. Anyone you send the link to can read those marks. JSON backups include your full notes and code; keep them private. Imports and correction notes are processed on your device without uploading files.
Network requests
Your browser requests this website’s pages and static assets. The hosting provider may process IP addresses and request metadata to deliver and secure the site. We do not claim control over all provider logs. Opening an external Roblox or YouTube link leaves this site and is subject to that service’s policies.
Images and YouTube playback
Production images and YouTube thumbnails are copied to this site’s static media folder at build time, so viewing them does not contact YouTube. A remote-media development preview instead contacts the credited image hosts. Clicking Watch loads a youtube-nocookie.com player and allows YouTube to receive your IP address, referrer and playback-related data. Privacy-enhanced mode does not mean anonymous or zero-data playback. No playback consent is saved between pages. Close player removes the iframe; it does not delete information YouTube has already received. You may use the external YouTube link instead.
Changes
Adding analytics, advertisements or an actual contact form requires updating this notice and any applicable consent controls first. This notice describes the shipped configuration, not hypothetical future integrations.
